Listings
The wizard, the interview, the photos, the words OSCAR writes, the imports.
A listing is the place, its words, its photos, its rules and everything OSCAR knows about it. The wizard asks for the least that makes a bookable page and leaves the rest to be filled in context.
The wizard
- The basics: name, type (house, cabin, condo, apartment and so on), address, rooms, beds, bathrooms, how many guests, the time zone, check-in and checkout times.
- The price: a base nightly rate, a cleaning fee, an extra-guest fee, weekly and monthly discounts. Taxes come from the platform’s table for your county unless you take them over.
- Booking: instant book or request-to-book, the cancellation policy (four tiers plus a non-refundable rate), minimum and maximum nights.
- Amenities from a list, so search filters find you, and house rules.
The interview
Guests ask the same things everywhere: the Wi-Fi, the coffee machine, where to park, the thermostat, the hot tub, the trash day. The interview asks you those questions as buttons with follow-ups, and your answers become two things: the description OSCAR writes, and the knowledge OSCAR answers guests from. Secrets such as a lock code or the Wi-Fi password are stored encrypted, never sent to the model, and released to the guest only around arrival.
Photos
Upload from the phone or the computer. Each photo is stored in three sizes and the first is the cover. OSCAR reviews photos for the obvious problems (dark, blurry, a screenshot) and says so.
The words
OSCAR drafts the headline and the description from the interview; you edit as you like. Phone numbers and email addresses are stripped from public text so the listing stays bookable here.
Bringing a listing from elsewhere
- Paste an Airbnb or Vrbo link on the first step of the wizard: the name, description, rooms, amenities and photos come over.
- Connect Hostaway under Settings → Integrations with a key you issue, and import your listings whole: words, rooms, address with coordinates, prices, fees, discounts, amenities and photos. Imported listings start as request-to-book until the calendar is connected.
